Twist II Clean Demonstration Video

Twist II Clean Demonstration Video
Originally uploaded by Dosmatic

The Twist II Clean series represents a significant breakthrough in solid filtration. The patented filter technology allows for five second cleaning without disassembly. These products are specifically designed to prevent equipment and system damage from suspended solids and sediments in a water system and are required for injector warranties. At half the price of automatic black flushing systems, these filters are the most cost-effective manual back flush system available.

Winter is Coming

With many parts of the US and Canada having experienced their first frost of the year, it's time to think of protecting your very valuable injectors from Winter freeze damage. If you plan to keep your injector in your water line you must consider keeping the area where it is installed from freezing temperatures, if not remove and store as mentioned in a earlier post. Even if you drain your system you will mostly likely still have some water remaining that can cause freeze damage requiring repair or in the worst case replacement. Protect your investment by removing your injector if at all possible. If you have installed it using the suggested three valve pass system as shown in your owners manual it will be easy to remove and reinstall once warmer weather returns. If you have any questions about the best way to maintain your injector contact us and we will be happy to help!

Inyeccion Remota

Storing your injector

To store your injector when not in use for a long period of time, find a 5 gallon bucket of water and put the injector in the container so it will remain wet and moist, this is to keep the seals and plastic pliable, also store this in an area where it will not freeze. When season starts just drain the injector and your ready to go. If you forget to put it in a bucket of water, you will have to fill the unit with water and let it soak for 24-48 hrs before start up.

MiniDos Remote Injection Demonstration

Dosmatic Remote Bypass Kit

This is the Dosmatic video of our Remote Bypass Kit, which is attached to an injector in operation. Our video will show the chemical being pulled and injected straight into the water/fluid system, while bypassing the mixing chamber and motor unit. As our customers have discovered, the remote injector kit in some applications extends the life of the injector motor and allows multiple injections within the water/fluid series.

The Remote Bypass kit attached to your injector should be used—

  •  In a series, when multiple chemicals are injected into a water/fluid system. Each injector adds chemical to the fluid system, while bypassing the next injector and eliminating the potential damage to that injector.

  • To increase the effectiveness of the primary chemical such as fertilizer or chlorine. In a series, the second injector will dispense the primary chemical. The first injector with the remote injector kit attached can be used to control alkalinity or ph with the goal of achieving maximum efficiency of the primary chemical. See Remote Bypass Kit diagram

  • To prevent mineral buildup within the motor unit. Chemicals like chlorine will cause mineral buildup, so it is better to inject it directly into the water system using the remote injector kit.

  • And finally, to prevent injector motor damage when injecting aggressive chemical.

Remember: when mixing more than one chemical, always refer to your chemical manufacturer information guide for proper application.

Troubleshooting tip #2; if the injector is clicking but not pulling solution.

First inspect the exterior, is the suction tube filter clean? If the filter is clogged, clean and replace. If the filter is clear then check the suction tube itself for cracks and replace if necessary.

If the suction tube is free of cracks or clogs then you may need to clean the suction tube fitting. To do this remove the Interlock Pin (#79 in your manual) and carefully pull out the inner cylinder. Then unscrew the suction tube fitting from the inner cylinder and clean and rinse, replace any damaged parts.

If this does not solve your problem then you would need to unscrew the external cylinder, separating if from the body of the injector. Take hold of the shaft and turn it 90 degrees in any direction to release it and pull the shaft from its housing. Remove the dosage piston and clean and inspect O-rings. To reinstall the dosage piston it is important that the thinner lips of the dosage piston be pointed up before reattaching to shaft.

Clean, dry and inspect inside the inner cylinder for scratches or cracks. If damaged, replace the inner cylinder.

You can now reassemble your lower end and the injector should now be clicking. If you need further assistance please feel free to contact our technical services department at 800-344-6767.

Injector is not clicking

Dosmatic has deemed October...Troubleshooting month. Each week we will post a different scenario and provide you the information necessary to repair your injector and get you back up and running!

If your injector is not clicking the following are some simple items you can check on your injector.
1.Check that the red plugs are removed.
2.Be sure water flow is in the direction of the arrow on the body of the injector.
3.Be sure the operating pressure is not exceeding the models maximum pressure allowance.
4.Check the lower end to make sure your #17(see manual for location) O-ring is not leaking.
You can also check that your main piston assembly is not worn, if you have wear in this location we recommend you place a minimum of 104 micron inline filter prior to the injector. In addition to these items you may need to also check the cover or main body for wear. This to will need to be replaced and will be eliminated with the use of an inline filter. Finally if you do not find fault in any of these locations check your upper and lower poppets, be sure they are seated on the poppet arms and are not damaged. If you find these poppets are not seated and/or are damaged replace all poppet assemblies.

Come back next week for more troubleshooting tips.
